Guidance in a Time of Confusion

Updated: Sep 30, 2020

I think everyone can agree that certain seasons in life brings a lot of uncertainty.

We will all like to have some guidance and help to navigate this strange period in time.

Confidence in our own ability in navigating through any issue of life, can create ideas of trying to solve any or all challenges, that arise by ourselves with our limited power.

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart. And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord [with reverent awe and obedience] and turn [entirely] away from evil. - Proverb 3 verse 5-7 AMP

There is nothing wrong with having confidence or self – esteem, but we should be careful not to place our confidence in our self.

Careful not to make yourself an idol.

He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to what is false [idol], Nor has sworn [oaths] deceitfully. - Psalm 24 verse 4 AMP

God cannot hear us or speak to us if we are building a wall of self-deception.

David, the author of Psalm 25 shows us how he expressed his desire for guidance and direction in time of trouble.

O my God, in You I [have unwavering] trust [and I rely on You with steadfast confidence], Do not let me be ashamed or my hope in You be disappointed; … Indeed, none of those who [expectantly] wait for You will be ashamed; … Let me know Your ways, O lord; Teach me Your paths. Guide me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; for You [and only You] I wait [expectantly] all day long. - Psalm 25 verse 2-5 AMP

How do we receive God’s guidance?

How have you been receiving instruction from God?

Is your decision guided by God’s word?

The first step is to desire to be guided by God and to realize that God’s primary guidance system is in his word [Holy Bible].

Reading the bible and constantly learning, while prayerfully receiving from it, you will gain the wisdom to perceive God’s direction for your life.

Holy spirit will reside in your heart assisting you every second.

For example: Psalms 119 tells of the endless knowledge found in God’s word.

Who is the man who fears the Lord [with awe-inspired reverence and worships Him with submissive wonder]? He will teach him [through His word] in the way he should choose. His soul will dwell in prosperity and goodness, and his descendants will inherit the land. The secret [of the wise counsel] of the Lord is for those who fear Him, and He will let them know His covenant and reveal to them [through His word] its [deep, inner] meaning. - Psalms 25 verse 12 AMP

To fear the lord is to recognize God’s attributes: He is holy, almighty, righteous, pure, all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-wise.

When we acknowledge God correctly, we gain a clearer picture of ourselves: sinful, weak, frail and needy.

When we recognize who God is and who we are, we will fall at his feet in humble respect.

Only then will he show us how to choose his way.

Recognizing God's way and allowing him to guide us is the best thing we can do as His children.

We are in the wilderness of life where we fight invisible enemies daily [enemies traps, deadly diseases and more].

God’s is constantly covering [protecting] us and our loved ones. In addition, He wants to direct and guide our steps.

God Loves You.

Meditate on these Bible chapters: Psalm 25 and 91.

Prayer:

Dear Father,

Help me know you more and how you are a wonderful Father to me. Thank you for your constant love and compassion. According to your word, please guide my path and steps in the direction of your will.
