Everyday is a Blessing!

*** Disclaimer: I struggled with depression and thoughts of suicide in my past. This is apart of my story and my truth. I am sharing this to help others.

If YOU are having thoughts of suicide, please call the "National Suicide Prevention Lifeline" at 800-273-8255 or call your local emergency number immediately or contact a healthcare professional for help. ***

Most people are really excited about their birthday.

They talk about the plans they have for the day.

They talk about the gifts and phone calls they received.

They even get excited when people give them a birthday shout out on social media...

I think differently though.

I'm just thankful to be alive.

When it is my birthday, I feel immensely blessed.

I think back on the years of having suicidal thoughts every single day.

I think back on the times when I thought I may not make it because of what depression had done to my body.

I think back on the times I begged God to just take me away.

Birthdays are special to me,

But because of my past, EVERY DAY IS A BLESSING.

I wake up quite often and thank God that I am alive.

I never thought that I would make it this far, but God had other plans.

Gods plans are so much better.

When I wanted to give up, God comforted me.

God sat with me and listened to my cries.

God said do not give up, because your days will not always be like this.

If you are having thoughts of not being in this world, please reconsider!

Your troubles will not last always.

Good times will come because God is good.

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

With covid-19 going on, my hope is that this virus changes people's perceptive on life.

People have died from this virus.

People die globally each day from various diseases and circumstances.

My hope is that people appreciate life much more because life is so short.

Try to remember the good times in life, instead of the low times.

Today is my birthday and I am so grateful.

I am grateful for every day I am alive.

Everyday is a blessing.

"Teach us to realize the brevity of life,

so that we may grow in wisdom."

Psalms 90:12 NLT
