God knows ALL of your heart's desires!
As a pre-teen and even as an adult now, Gilmore Girls is of one of my absolute favorite tv shows. I was in awe of Lorelai and Rory's amazing mother/daughter relationship. Not having a close relationship with my own mother at that age, this show allowed me to live vicariously through these two women. Seeing the dynamics of Lorelai and her parents relationship... the hurt, the pain and the disappointments; I understood that and could relate so much. This show hit very close to home for me. I got to go through all of my emotions: happiness, sadness, love and joy while watching this 45 minute show. Looking back on it now, this show was kind of like therapy for me.
Everything about the show is great, but the BEST thing about that show for me was...
the town of "Stars Hollow". This little town was filled with love, little cute shops, quirky people and the amazing, unique festivals. Everyone knew each other and helped each other. It was a place that people moved to and never, ever thought of leaving. I would watch that show and would wish I lived there. I wanted to be in that town, with all the nice people and go to all the fun festivals. I wished that Stars Hollow existed in real life.

"May he grant your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans"
I was born a country girl. The south has a reputation of people being super polite and friendly. You would probably think that the people in the south are like the people of Stars Hollow. They are not. Where I'm from, you should make sure your doors are locked. It is the opposite of Stars Hollow. With the way the world is today, I thought that Stars Hollow was just a creative town from someone's imagination. There is no way that a town like Stars Hollow exists... or so I thought.
God Fulfilling My Heart's Desires
When I graduated from college, I really wanted to move to the beach. I loveee the ocean! I thought that I would stay in the south, and get a job in my field, by the beach. God had different plans for me though. Instead, I moved to another state and got a job in a different career field. I never even visited this state before. God basically had me move to a random place, that was very far away from my home and where I did not know anyone, but God is so wonderful. He answered the desire of my heart and moved me to a town 10 minutes away from the beach. What a major blessing!
Then I met my husband. I was not looking to date anyone and I definitely was not looking to get married. But, my husband was my absolute dream guy... If I had a list, he marked off every box and then some. God quickly opened my heart because I always wanted to be a wife and have a family. Meeting my husband was another fulfilled desire from God!
When I met my husband, he already had his own place. A nice, cozy 1 bedroom apartment about an hour away from where I lived. I moved in with him and the area is so beautiful and peaceful. The people here are super friendly. You see kids hanging out, smiling and riding their bikes. There are walkable areas with cute shops and restaurants. There are even festivals with food and music, every couple of months. Sounds a lot like Stars Hollow right? Well, it is!
The town that a live in now, is very similar to Stars Hollow. I love living here. God answered another desire of my heart by having me move here. I'm so in awe of God because I did not know that was a real desire of my heart. I did not think that a town as wonderful as this existed... but it does. God saw my heart and decided to grace me with this blessing.
A blessing that I thought was only a teenage fantasy.
God Fulfilling Your Heart's Desires
God knows all of your desires, every beautiful wish, dream and fantasy. Surrendering to God's plan for your life is the first step to God fulfilling your heart's desires. It was not until, I let go of my plans, that God was able to make room for his plans. When I made room for God's plans, God fulfilled many of my heart's desires.
I took a leap of faith and moved to a place I had never seen before. God bless me for that and granted my desires. When you obey God and let God establish his plans for your life, blessings overflow!
Proverbs 16:1-3 says
"The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit. Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established."
Trust God with your life. Know that God has plans for your good and know that he cares about your needs, but also your WANTS. Once you surrender to God's plan and purpose for your life, you will be in awe and amazed at what he will do.
If God granted me many of my heart's desires, he can do it for you too.
